Mentis Mindset coaching for teenagers

Help your child stop getting in their own way.

Mentis is eight sessions of mindset coaching for teenagers. With one mentor, your child learns to notice the beliefs that hold them back, test better ones in real life, and write down the principles they want to live by.

Is this your child?

Sound familiar?

If you’ve thought any of these about your child, Mentis was built for them.

  • They know exactly what to do. They just don’t start.
  • One bad mark and the whole week goes with it.
  • They won’t try something unless they’re sure they’ll be good at it.
  • They go quiet in the moments that matter.
  • What their friends think decides more than it should.

What changes

What we work on together

The shifts Mentis is built around, described the way you would notice them at home.

  • Waits until they feel readyTakes the first small step, then adjusts
  • Treats a setback as a verdictTreats a setback as information
  • Avoids anything they might fail atRuns small experiments on purpose
  • Borrows opinions from the roomKnows what they stand for, in their own words

How it works

Eight sessions, each building on the last.

Between sessions

Between sessions your child runs a two-week experiment: one new habit or way of thinking, tried in real life and logged every day. Experiments, not promises, so trying something and having it fail still counts as progress.

  1. 01

    Audit

We map how your child thinks today: the beliefs and habits they picked up without ever choosing them.

  2. 02

    Forge

Identity and standards. Who they want to be, and what that person does on an ordinary Tuesday.

  3. 03

    Lens

How they see problems. Checking their assumptions before reacting to them.

  4. 04

    Engine

Getting things done. Starting before they feel ready and finishing before it is perfect.

  5. 05

    Furnace

Pressure and setbacks. Staying steady when things go wrong, and learning from it.

  6. 06

    Flame

Momentum. Building habits that keep going after the motivation wears off.

  7. 07

    Mirror

Other people. Handling emotions, celebrating friends, and being honest without armour.

  8. 08

    Ship

Putting it together. Your child finishes their Codex, the principles they have written for themselves.

What they keep

The Mentis Codex

A short book of operating principles your child writes for themselves, drafted in their journal across eight sessions. When pressure arrives later, at exams, in friendships, in their first job, they have their own words to go back to.

  • Belief tracker

Beliefs they inherited, where they came from, and whether they still help.

  • Experiment log

Each two-week experiment: what they tried, what happened, what they learned.

  • Discomfort log

Things they were nervous to do, did anyway, and how it actually went.

  • Daily log

One mindset practised each day and what they noticed about themselves.

  • Streak chain

One small daily action, tracked. The only rule is not to break the chain.

  • Weekly reflection

One page every Sunday: what did I learn about how I think this week?

Your child’s mentor

Who works with your child

One mentor, from the first session to the last. They get to know how your child thinks, so each session picks up where the last one left off.
